Over the past decade, Living Earth has developed a number of
environmental education and community development projects in
Cameroon. The purpose of the projects that have been implemented to
date has been to encourage people to consider their impact on the
environment and to then reduce or stop activities that deplete
natural resources or threaten biodiversity in the region. It has
also been to raise the awareness of the general public and
decision-makers regarding the need to introduce environmental
education in the schools system.
As part of this, in accordance with Cameroon's National
Environmental Management Plan, and the recommendation of the
National Education forum, Living Earth Cameroon has worked with
local communities and schools to produce a variety of environmental
schools curricula teaching / learning packages- curricula maps,
eco-maps, books and leaflets.
